Vice President, Obesity Strategy

Job Summary
Pfizer seeks a senior-level executive to own and drive the global obesity strategy, accountable for end-to-end strategic and financial ownership across R&D, Commercial, Medical, Development, and other functions. The Vice President will define long-term strategic ambition, oversee portfolio strategy and capital allocation, lead enterprise governance and executive alignment, and represent the obesity franchise externally. The role requires deep domain expertise in obesity/metabolic diseases, extensive pharmaceutical industry leadership, and the ability to influence senior leaders and navigate a complex global matrix. This is a hybrid role based in the United States (New York City area) with on-site requirements and relocation support may be available.
Required Qualifications
- MD/PhD or PhD with deep domain expertise in obesity, endocrinology, or related metabolic diseases
- 12–15+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry with senior leadership roles
- experience shaping and leading global franchise or portfolio strategy, including investment prioritization, lifecycle planning, and cross-functional execution
- prior experience with a top-tier management consulting firm or equivalent enterprise strategy leadership experience is highly desirable
- recognition of expertise in obesity and metabolic disease landscape spanning scientific innovation, clinical development, commercial strategy, and evolving healthcare economics
- demonstrated ability to influence and drive decisions at the Executive Leadership Team level and operate in high-ambiguity environments
- ability to architect and lead long-term, enterprise strategies that integrate science, business, and financial value creation
