Job Summary
Lead and scale mortgage operations (underwriting, fulfillment, and funding) for Neo Financial in Canada as VP of Mortgages Operations. Drive end-to-end operational excellence, align with capital markets, product, and risk teams, and build a high-performance team to accelerate loan origination, improve turnaround times, ensure compliance, and optimize customer experience. Partner with executive leadership to define a strategic roadmap, mentor senior operational leaders, and manage KPIs across customer satisfaction, operational performance, financial performance, and risk. Preference for deep knowledge of Canadian mortgage regulations, investor guidelines, and scale-driven process improvements, with a data-driven, collaborative leadership style. Primary location proximity and collaboration with Calgary, Winnipeg, and Toronto offices; remote work is in-person for those sites.
Required Qualifications
- Senior leadership experience in mortgage operations (underwriting, fulfillment, funding) within a Canadian lender, bank, or fintech
- Proven track record scaling operational teams while maintaining quality and compliance standards
- Deep knowledge of Canadian mortgage regulations, investor guidelines, and capital markets readiness requirements
- Strong commercial acumen — understands how operational decisions impact origination margin, portfolio quality, and growth
- Experience partnering with product, sales, credit risk and capital markets teams in a high-growth environment
- Data-driven operator — fluent in SLA management, productivity metrics, and look-to-book ratios
- Culture builder — fosters performance-driven teams where credit diligence and service excellence coexist
- Comfortable with ambiguity and pace of a scaling fintech
