Job Summary
The Vice President, Mainframe Engineer II will provide application software development and technical support in complex situations, conduct requirements gathering, and execute Software Development Life Cycle processes. Key responsibilities include programming efficient code, performing technical design and documentation, conducting code reviews, and ensuring application performance. The successful candidate should have over 10 years of experience in mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, and IBM DB2, along with a bachelor's degree in a related field.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
- 7-9 years of experience in software development
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or in a related occupation
- Hands-on development experience and proficiency in relevant technologies
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the securities or financial services industry
- Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, EZYTRIEVE, IBM DB2, VSAM, File transmissions NDM/SFTP
- Experience with IBM IDZ Mainframe emulation software and IDZGit software storage facility
- Familiarity with scheduling software such as ESP and ControlM
- Understanding of Database Normalization and optimizing DB2 SQL statements
- Experience in managing the trade life cycle of financial products
- Knowledge of design patterns like Abstract Factory and Singleton
- Integration of data analytics concepts in financial services
