Job Summary

Establish and lead an integrated Investor Relations and Corporate Communications organization during IDEAYA's transition to a commercial stage company. Develop and execute comprehensive IR and corporate strategies aligned with long-term value creation, serving as a key point of contact for institutional investors, sell-side analysts, and the broader investment community. Prepare executive messaging for quarterly earnings, roadshows, and investor meetings while ensuring compliance with SEC disclosure requirements and public company governance standards. Build the IR and communications function from the ground up, recruiting and developing a high-performing team to scale infrastructure and processes. Partner closely with the CEO, CFO, and cross-functional leaders to shape the enterprise narrative, manage reputational risks, and drive strategic communications around clinical milestones and financing activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Communications, Life Sciences, or a related field
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in investor relations, corporate communications, equity research, media or related roles within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
  • Significant experience supporting publicly traded biotechnology companies
  • Strong understanding of biotechnology drug development, clinical development, regulatory pathways, and capital markets
  • Demonstrated success building trusted relationships with institutional investors, research analysts, media outlets, patient advocacy groups, executive leadership teams, and Boards of Directors
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex scientific and financial information clearly and effectively
  • Experience leading communications around clinical, regulatory, financing, and strategic corporate milestones
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Experience building or significantly expanding an Investor Relations and/or Corporate Communications organization
  • Experience supporting a company's evolution from clinical-stage to commercial-stage operations
  • Oncology or precision medicine experience
  • Experience supporting capital markets transactions
  • Established relationships within the biotechnology investment community and industry media
  • Experience supporting one or more commercial product launches
  • Strategic thinker with exceptional business judgment and financial acumen
  • Entrepreneurial builder who enjoys creating organizations, developing talent, and establishing scalable processes
  • Collaborative leader who builds strong partnerships across scientific, clinical, financial, operational, and commercial functions
  • Outstanding organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail

  • Calm and effective under pressure, particularly during periods of heightened market activity and significant corporate events
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment

  • Demonstrate good judgement and ethical behavior in all business activities
  • Maintain patient and product safety as a top priority
