Job Summary
Lead financial analysis and due diligence for originating, structuring, and executing credit-related financing transactions, including LBOs, syndicated loans, and corporate M&A. Train, mentor, and supervise junior team members on day-to-day deliverables while interpreting credit market themes for client and deal team benefit. Take execution ownership of financings and assist with pitch presentations, RFP responses, and market research. Collaborate across corporate and investment banking groups to deliver holistic solutions and establish relationships with bank investors to optimize transaction execution. Work 37.5 hours weekly in Toronto as a full-time role within RBC Capital Markets' top 10 global investment banking division.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in investment banking, leveraged finance, private equity, equity research, corporate development, or accounting
- University degree, preferably in business/commerce, economics, STEM or other relevant disciplines
- A desire to learn and a team-oriented mindset
- Demonstrated superior track record in academic and professional endeavors
- A clearly defined interest in investment banking and financial markets
- Basic knowledge of market structure and themes
- Strong computer skills, including high proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Quantitative, analytical, and financial modeling skills
- Adept written and verbal communication and data visualization skills
- Ability to work well under pressure with multiple deadlines while maintaining careful attention to detail
- Flexibility in schedule to meet client deadlines
- Desire to develop a leadership skillset and make meaningful contributions in a fast-paced, team environment
