Job Summary
Vice President, Global Fund Services Tax Oversight Canada leads Canadian tax oversight for mutual fund clients, coordinates with 3rd party vendor, reviews deliverables, acts as SME on Canadian tax, develops process improvements, provides guidance to internal teams, supports client inquiries, and presents metrics to management. Oversee vendor production, ensure adherence to fund policies, and serve as main tax contact for clients, 3rd party vendors, and client auditors.
Required Qualifications
- Eight plus years of Canadian tax experience, specific to trust taxation
- Advanced knowledge of tax issues affecting investment funds
- Strong technical skills specific to Canadian tax including accounting principles and theories
- Analytical skills, problem solving, good critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Expert use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ability to present to senior management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong client service and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast paced environment
- Ability to manage conflicting demands and priorities
- Experience working across multiple business areas and/or functions to deliver results
- Relationship building skills - develop internal and external partnerships to drive results
- 8+ years Canadian tax experience; focus on trust taxation
- Preferred: Five plus years of experience in Operations
