Job Summary
Vice President of Extension at Utah State University Extension leads statewide program delivery, evaluation, and strategic direction to advance the land-grant mission. Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree (preferred doctoral degree) for the Vice President of Extension role
- Demonstrated strategic planning and statewide program leadership in Extension or similar higher education context
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proven organizational leadership experience managing complex organizations and fostering collaboration
- Experience in fundraising, external relations, and resource development to support programs
- Strong ability to cultivate partnerships with counties, industry, government, and community stakeholders
- Commitment to the Land Grant mission and Extension principles
- Change leadership and innovation mindset with ability to drive impact statewide
- People-centered leadership with focus on faculty, staff, students, and shared governance
- Ability to align resources and initiatives with strategic priorities to sustain growth and impact
- Ability to articulate a compelling vision and engage diverse audiences
- Experience advancing statewide education and community-based scholarship
- Strong financial acumen and budget oversight skills
- Ability to advocate for sustainable funding and program support
- Experience with policy engagement and stakeholder relationships
- Proven track record of strategic fundraising and revenue generation
- Bachelor’s degree is not sufficient for this senior leadership role
- Master’s degree required; doctoral degree preferred; candidates with a doctoral degree are highly preferred
