Job Summary
Lead a comprehensive university engagement strategy that connects K-State's resources with communities, industries, and citizens across Kansas and nationally. Serve as the President's principal liaison to external stakeholders, including legislators, industry executives, and alumni, to facilitate high-impact partnerships. Direct the Office of Government Relations to manage legislative advocacy at the Kansas Legislature, Board of Regents, and federal levels, while overseeing state and federal budget priorities and regulatory compliance. Drive the strategic economic development agenda by positioning the university as a catalyst for business attraction, innovation, and workforce development throughout the state. Partner with the VP for Research to advance industry relationships and coordinate with the KSU Foundation and Alumni Association to support the Next-Gen K-State strategic plan. Represent K-State in national higher education associations and lead grassroots legislative efforts to amplify the university's public policy agenda.
Required Qualifications
- An earned advanced degree (master's or doctoral level) from an accredited institution in public administration, political science, agricultural sciences, higher education administration, communications, business, or a closely related field.
