Vice President Financial Planning and Analysis

Job Summary
Lead enterprise-wide financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting by developing multi-year plans, sophisticated tuition and enrollment models, and liquidity scenarios. Partner with the Controller, HR, and academic leadership to drive strategic decision support, establish KPI dashboards, and oversee cash flow planning. Manage the FP&A and Student Accounts teams while preparing Board, Finance Committee, and executive-level reporting packages. Enhance financial systems, optimize ERP processes, and foster a collaborative culture across departments. This newly elevated role reports directly to the EVP/COO with potential future oversight of the Controller organization.
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience in higher education finance, university finance, or academic institutions
- Strong understanding of faculty partnerships, academic budgeting, enrollment-driven revenue models, and higher education financial operations
- Extensive background in FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and strategic planning
- Experience presenting financial information to executive leadership, Boards, and senior stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of financial statements, GAAP, nonprofit finance, and accounting principles
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and executive presence
- Must be comfortable operating at both the strategic and operational levels
- Must be able to build relationships across the institution
- Must be able to partner effectively with academic and administrative leaders
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems and business intelligence/reporting platforms preferred
