Job Summary
Lead executive facilities operations for Article Student Living’s national portfolio with responsibility for preventative maintenance programs, facilities standards, long-term asset strategies, and safety/compliance across communities. Serve as SME on building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety), partner with senior leadership to align facilities programs with capital projects and asset plans, manage large operating budgets, develop regional and national teams, and maintain strong vendor relationships. Requires 10+ years in facilities management with 5+ in leadership, a related Bachelor's degree, advanced MS Office/Procore/project-management proficiency, and up to 50% travel. Hybrid in Chicago (Mon-Thu in-office, Fri remote).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- 10+ years of facilities management experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role in multi-family or commercial real estate
- Track record leading teams, collaborating with senior executives, and managing vendor relationships
- Financial knowledge with experience managing large budgets and driving operational efficiency
- Expertise in building systems, construction, maintenance operations, and preventative maintenance strategies
- Proficiency in MS Office (advanced Excel), Procore, and project management platforms; willing to travel up to 50%
