Job Summary
Lead and develop the engineering organization across product engineering, systems engineering, CAD, modeling & simulation, and technical services. Drive the use of CAD and CAE tools to accelerate development while establishing engineering standards, processes, and methodologies for a defense manufacturing environment. Oversee product development activities from requirements definition through prototyping and transition to production, providing technical oversight and design reviews for major programs. Ensure engineering practices comply with ITAR, DFARS, and MIL SPEC requirements while partnering with Program Management to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals. Collaborate with Operations to optimize designs for manufacturability and reliability, manage engineering budgets and staffing forecasts, and serve as the technical liaison with customers, suppliers, and government stakeholders. Develop long-term technology roadmaps aligned with business strategy and lead talent development and succession planning. Serve as the technical leader for RENK America across the RENK Group and within the Vehicle Mobility Solutions division.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or equivalent
- 10+ years comprehensive Engineering experience
- 5 years leading a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Influence and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and people management skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Results-driven and execution focused
- Skilled at developing engineering talent and building high-performance teams
- Experience collaborating in a matrixed organization with Program Management, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality
- Demonstrated success directing multi-disciplinary engineering teams in complex product development
