Job Summary
Vice President of Engineering Design leading cross-disciplinary design programs across transportation, water, facilities, and public infrastructure. Oversees planning, coordination, and execution of multidisciplinary design efforts; establishes technical standards; mentors engineers; and drives quality assurance across design packages. Engages clients, supports business development, and ensures compliance with industry standards and regulatory criteria while guiding teams through complex project delivery. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field, 10+ years of leadership in engineering design, a PE license, and experience with major infrastructure projects; proficiency in major design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit) and strong leadership, communication, and project-management skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience leading engineering design efforts within consulting, infrastructure, transportation, or public works environments
- Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinating complex design programs
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit or related platforms
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience supporting major transportation, transit, water, wastewater, facilities, or heavy civil infrastructure projects
- Previous experience leading design teams in a consulting engineering environment
- Familiarity with public agency design standards and regulatory review processes
- Experience developing technical approaches for pursuits, proposals, and client interviews
