Job Summary
Lead an integrated communications strategy encompassing corporate, product, pipeline, executive, internal, digital, and media relations to shape a credible external narrative as the organization prepares for a potential first commercial launch. Partner with the senior leadership team, including the CEO and CFO, to define and articulate the company's corporate narrative while advising on positioning, messaging, and reputation management. Execute flawless communications for major milestones such as clinical data presentations, regulatory events, and financing activities, while overseeing media relations and crisis preparedness. Manage external agency partners and build a scalable communications function in this individual contributor role, requiring in-person attendance at the Philadelphia office and travel for industry events.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive communications leadership experience within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences organizations
- significant experience leading corporate communications and product or pipeline communications functions
- Demonstrated success developing and executing communications strategies that support corporate reputation, pipeline advancement, regulatory milestones, commercial readiness, and business objectives
- Experience serving as a trusted advisor to CEOs, executive teams, and senior leaders in high-growth or high-stakes biotechnology environments
- Experience working in a publicly traded or investor-facing life sciences company
- Deep understanding of the biotechnology industry, drug development process, regulatory environment, healthcare stakeholder landscape, and communications considerations associated with potential product approval and launch
- Demonstrated success operating in a senior individual contributor capacity, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution while partnering effectively with agencies and cross-functional teams
- Proven experience managing high-profile communications initiatives, issues-management situations, crisis preparedness, and corporate reputation challenges
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific, regulatory, commercial, and business information into clear and compelling narratives
- Strong executive presence, sound business judgment, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, matrixed biotechnology environment while balancing strategic leadership with operational excellence and hands-on execution
- in-person attendance at the NAP office in the Philadelphia area based on business needs and work requirements
- Travel is required based on business needs, including attendance at internal meetings, key company and/or industry events

- Strong media relations experience, with established relationships across healthcare, biotechnology, business, and financial media
