Job Summary
Vice President/Chief Operating Officer at Houston Methodist leads and directs multiple departments and service lines under the CEO, driving strategic direction, operational performance, budgeting, regulatory compliance, and organizational excellence. Responsible for developing long-range goals, coordinating executive leadership, overseeing management staff, supporting staff development and engagement, ensuring policy and procedure development and adherence, and collaborating with senior leadership to achieve hospital objectives. Requires demonstrated strategic planning, change management, financial management, clinical/quality integration, and strong presentation and interpersonal skills to interface with high-level stakeholders and the Board.
Required Qualifications
- Ten years of leadership experience in healthcare leadership with management experience
- Master’s degree in Nursing/Healthcare Administration/MMBA or related field
- Executive-level leadership skills; strategic planning and change management
- Ability to lead multiple service lines, budget development, compliance and accreditation knowledge
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with lean/process improvement and patient safety
- Fellow of ACHE preferred
- Ability to mentor and develop staff
- On-call and travel requirements as needed
