Job Summary
Senior VFD Technician responsible for installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of VFD units in the NY/NJ area; respond to equipment breakdowns, on-site repairs, preventive maintenance; manage safety; communicate with customers; prepare inspection and appraisal reports; read electrical/mechanical drawings; knowledge of three-phase motors and control circuits; experience with 4-20 mA and 0-10 Vdc devices; experience with gas detection systems and DriSteem humidifiers a plus; OSHA 30; SST.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of hands on experience with multiple manufacturers of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work from heights/a ladder
- Strong working knowledge of three phase motors and control circuits
- Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, safety rules, operations manual, and written directions including PID's, fabrication drawings, and electrical schematics
- Installation and troubleshooting skills for heating and cooling systems
- OSHA 30
- SST
- Ability to prepare inspection and appraisal reports
- Team player with good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Mechanical Assembly and Troubleshooting Skills
- Basic Computer Skills
- Experience programming, calibrating, and configuring 4-20 MA & 0-10 Vdc devices
- Experience with gas detection systems, & DriSteem Humidifiers is a plus
