Job Summary
Operate sonar sensors to navigate, map the environment, and detect hostile submarines while steering the vessel to maintain correct depth. Support Special Forces during covert operations and assist with onboard firefighting duties within a tight team. Work 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including nights and weekends, with a six-on-six-off schedule and up to four weeks underwater per deployment. Begin with mandatory training in the taskbook and simulation book to earn the Flipper insignia.
Required Qualifications
- MBO 2, MBO 3
- Between 17 years and 28 years and 11 months
- Swimming ability
- Good physical condition
- Pass physical fitness test
Desired Qualifications
- Valid driver's license (B)
- Experience with sonar equipment
- Experience steering a vessel
- Experience acting as a fireman on board
- Experience working in small teams
- Ability to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Ability to work during night shifts
- Ability to work during weekends
- Ability to work on duty rotations
- Ability to work for maximum periods underwater of approximately four weeks
- Ability to work in a six hours on and six hours off schedule
