Veterinary Technician - White Mountain Animal Hospital

Job Summary

Conduct daily diagnostic imaging coverage including positioning for x-rays and digital radiology. Assist the doctor and technical staff with patient restraint, blood draws, IV catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring. Perform laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology and maintain accurate medical histories. Provide excellent client communication and education while cross-training with reception and kenneling duties. Work in a fast-paced small animal hospital environment offering general medicine and emergency services. Required Qualifications

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (preferred)
  • 1+ years of veterinary experience
  • Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
  • Passion for working with animals and their owners
  • Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
  • Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Obtaining accurate and thorough medical histories
  • Assisting doctor and other technical staff with restraint
  • Blood draws (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
  • Placing IV catheters
  • Digital radiology including positioning
  • Dentistry (scaling, polishing, anesthetic monitoring)
  • Anesthesia (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique)
  • Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology; Idexx laboratory equipment
  • Excellent client communication/education
  • Cross-trained with reception & kenneling experience

  • They will have experience rooming patients, surgical assisting experience and knowledge of equipment used, drawing blood and running bloodwork, knowledge of x-rays and proper positioning, experience with proper animal handling and restraint, understanding the importance of client education, and being a positive and motivating team member
