Job Summary
Assist the doctor with medical procedures, including surgery, under direct supervision while providing high-quality care to all pets. Deliver exceptional customer service to clients and their pets, communicating regarding care plans and gaining consent for treatments. Manage medical records through practice management software, dispense medication, perform x-rays, blood draws, and administer vaccines. Set up, breakdown, and maintain medical equipment while assisting with cleaning all hospital areas. Requires comfort interacting with animals of all types, strong communication skills, and the ability to lift 40 pounds. A certified veterinary technician or associate degree in veterinary assisting is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Be a certified veterinary technician
- Associate degree in veterinary assisting
- Comfortable interacting with furry, fuzzy, feathered, and scaly friends
- Have strong interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Be able to lift at least 40 pounds
