Job Summary
Conduct patient examinations, diagnostics, and surgical support while managing anesthesia monitoring and recovery care. Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and fluid therapy alongside laboratory testing and dental procedures. Educate clients on medications and treatments, maintain accurate medical records, and ensure exam rooms remain clean and stocked. Work closely with veterinarians during appointments and procedures in a fast-paced clinical environment. Occasional evening and Saturday shifts required.
Required Qualifications
- At least two to three years of veterinary technician experience
- CVT, LVT, or RVT credential preferred
- Strong knowledge of anesthesia monitoring and surgical support
- Confidence with venipuncture and IV catheter placement
- Proficiency with diagnostic radiography and patient positioning
- Experience performing laboratory procedures and diagnostic testing
- Experience with dental cleanings and dental procedures
- Strong patient handling and restraint skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Confidence educating clients about medications, treatments, and preventive care
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate medical documentation
- The ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced clinical environment
- The confidence to work efficiently and independently when appropriate
- A collaborative, team-focused approach to veterinary medicine
- Availability for occasional evening and Saturday shifts
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with digital radiography and laboratory equipment is preferred
- Familiarity with veterinary practice management systems such as Cornerstone is a plus
- Fear Free certification or an interest in low-stress handling techniques is a plus
