Job Summary
Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery while safely handling and restraining animals with compassion. Perform technical duties including lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement, and maintain accurate medical records for medication dispensing. Communicate clearly with clients regarding care instructions and status updates. Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready while adhering to hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines. Full-time roles offer a 4-day week from 8:30 AM to 6:00 or 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with part-time options up to 25 hours weekly and no weekend requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately
- Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions
- Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines
