Job Summary
Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and medical procedures while obtaining patient histories, vital signs, and assessments. Safely handle and restrain patients using Fear Free® low-stress techniques, perform venipuncture, collect diagnostic samples, and place IV catheters for fluid therapy. Prepare and administer medications, conduct in-house laboratory testing, and obtain quality radiographs. Anticipate team needs to maintain efficient workflows, monitor hospitalized patients, and educate clients on medications and preventive care. Maintain accurate medical records, ensure treatment areas are clean and stocked, and follow infection-control protocols. Required Qualifications
- Previous Veterinary Technician experience
- Strong patient care, handling, and restraint skills
- A commitment to Fear Free and low-stress handling techniques
- Experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and diagnostic sample collection
- Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring, surgical support, and patient recovery
- Comfort with radiography, laboratory testing, and diagnostic procedures
- Strong client communication and education skills
- Accurate and thorough medical documentation skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- The ability to stay calm and adapt in a busy veterinary environment
