Job Summary
Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery while safely handling and restraining animals with compassion. Perform technical duties including lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement, and communicate clearly with clients regarding care instructions and status updates. Maintain accurate medical records, assist with medication dispensing, and keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean and stocked. Adhere to hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times. This full-time role at Tequesta Veterinary Clinic, an AAHA hospital in Tequesta, requires Monday-Saturday flexibility with weekdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and rotating Saturday hours from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in animal care
- Client communication skills
- Knowledge of veterinary procedures
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately
- Knowledge of common disease states
- Ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions
- Familiarity with DEA guidelines
- Familiarity with OSHA guidelines
- Familiarity with hospital safety guidelines
- Passion for improving the lives of pets and their owners
- Experience in anesthesia
- Experience in dentistry
