Job Summary
Prepare patients and surgical suites for specialty procedures, including orthopedic, soft tissue, thoracic, laparoscopic, and arthroscopic surgeries. Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia while maintaining sterile technique and ensuring patient safety. Collect diagnostic samples for laboratory testing, monitor vital signs throughout all stages of care, and maintain accurate medical and anesthesia documentation. Assist surgeons during procedures and maintain surgical equipment, ensuring instruments are properly cleaned and sterilized. Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams in a collaborative environment.
Required Qualifications
- Veterinary Technician experience in a surgical setting
- Strong anesthesia monitoring and patient care skills
- Proficiency with anesthetic calculations, CRIs, fluid therapy, and medication administration
- Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile technique
- Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care
Desired Qualifications
- RVT, CVT, LVT, or VTS certification preferred
