Job Summary
As a Surgery Veterinary Technician, you will assist in managing cases alongside surgeons and skilled technicians, participate in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures, obtain and process laboratory samples, monitor and recover anesthesia, and support operating room duties as circulating nurse and scrub-in technician during orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries. You will provide compassionate nursing care and advocate for patients while contributing to inventory control, surgical and specialty orders, and related tasks. The role requires VTNE-certified/licensed credentials, and a degree from an accredited veterinary technology program, with licensure eligibility for EVTA/NSVMA. The position offers four 10-hour shifts, relocation reimbursement, a $2,500 sign-on bonus, and comprehensive benefits in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Graduate from an accredited Veterinary Technology program
- Certification: Successful completion of the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE)
- Licensure: Licensed or eligible for licensure with the Eastern Veterinary Technicians Association (EVTA) and the Nova Scotia Veterinary Medical Association (NSVMA)
