Job Summary
Veterinary Technician - Surgery in Los Angeles, CA. You will prepare patients for surgery, safely restrain animals, place IV catheters, perform phlebotomy, prepare slides for cytology, and proficiently perform digital radiographs. The role includes advanced imaging (CT/MRI), anesthesia monitoring, and opportunities to mentor colleagues. The position supports ongoing professional development through BluePearl/Mars Veterinary Health programs, with a starting pay range of $24.00-$49.00 per hour and a $3,000 sign-on bonus for qualified RVT candidates. Shift work includes evenings and weekends with differential pay. This role requires unrestricted work authorization in the U.S. and is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- Current RVT credential or equivalent veterinary technician certification
- Ability to monitor anesthesia and provide perioperative care
- Experience with phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, and venous access
- Proficiency in radiographs (digital), CT, and MRI procedures
- Mentoring/leadership experience or potential to mentor other staff
- Strong client communication and empathy toward pet owners
- Compliance with safety, sterilization, and surgical asepsis standards
