Job Summary
Direct work flow on the floor, assist in educational development of technicians, and help with the interview process for potential new hires. Manage technician scheduling, assist in staffing and coverage, and provide opportunities for staff to gain firsthand experience. Mentor technicians within the department, work with doctors to develop protocols, and ensure VCA policies are implemented by all technical staff. This supervisory role focuses on leadership and supervision of the technical staff to deliver exceptional client experience and patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience
- Experience preferably in a supervisory role
- Strong technical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Dedication to maintaining a positive work environment
- CVT, RVT, or LVT credential
- Knowledge of physical examinations and patient assessment
- Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring
- Knowledge of surgical preparation and assisting
- Knowledge of dentistry
- Knowledge of radiology
- Knowledge of laboratory work
- Knowledge of venipuncture
- Knowledge of catheter placement
- Knowledge of pharmacy
- Knowledge of patient recovery
- Knowledge of compassionate care of hospitalized animals
- Ability to direct work flow on the floor
- Ability to assist in the educational development of technicians
- Ability to help with the interview process for potential new hires
- Ability to handle Technician Scheduling
- Ability to assist in staffing and coverage
