Job Summary
Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician needed to join VEG's ER team in Chantilly, VA. You will handle a wide range of cases from triage to discharge, provide nursing care and emotional support, administer meds and fluids (IVs, CRIs, transfusions), support anesthesia and monitoring, utilize advanced techniques (central lines, endoscopy, ultrasounds), and contribute to CPR efforts. The role emphasizes teamwork, leadership in care plans, and maintaining high-quality, compassionate care for both patients and their families in a fast-paced emergency setting. Training and mentorship are available, with a focus on growth in veterinary emergency medicine and opportunities for CE and travel stipends for continued education.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT credential in the state where the VEG practice is located
- 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; experience in emergency or specialty medicine preferred
- AVMA-accredited program associate degree or higher strongly preferred
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as-needed basis
