Job Summary
Conduct outpatient duties including taking patient vitals, administering vaccinations, performing venipuncture, and triaging emergencies. Prepare samples for in-house bloodwork, urine, and fecal analysis, and assist with ultrasounds while taking radiographs safely. Maintain hospital cleanliness using proper disinfection and sterilization protocols, and keep accurate records of patients and client interactions in AVImark. Communicate effectively with clients, staff, and doctors while assisting in all other hospital areas as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Standing for extended periods of time
- Lifting patients up and down from exam tables
- Lifting up to 40 or 50 lbs unassisted
- Sitting or kneeling on the ground while restraining, administering medications, and cleaning
- Exposure to anesthetic gases and x-rays
Desired Qualifications
- Veterinary Technician experience is preferred
- Experience working with animals is preferred
