Job Summary
Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery while safely handling and restraining animals. Perform technical duties including lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement, and maintain accurate medical records. Communicate clearly with clients regarding care instructions and status updates. Assist with medication dispensing and keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean and stocked. Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times. This full-time or part-time role offers an 8:30-6:00 pm shift range with potential rotating Saturday shifts, plus benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately
- Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions
- Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines
