Job Summary
Triage incoming emergency patients and prioritize care based on medical urgency. Partner with veterinarians during patient assessments, diagnostics, treatments, and emergency procedures. Place and maintain intravenous catheters, assist with advanced nursing care, and perform diagnostic imaging procedures. Collect and process laboratory samples, administer sedation and anesthesia, and monitor hospitalized patients while maintaining accurate electronic medical records. Provide compassionate client communication and support a collaborative, team-focused culture. Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience in a progressive general practice
- Minimum of two years of veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience in a specialty or emergency hospital
- At least one year of experience in a specialty or emergency hospital
- Ability to calculate medication dosages, fluid rates, CRIs, and treatment protocols accurately
- Excellent patient handling and technical nursing skills
- Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and professional in a fast-paced emergency environment
