Job Summary
Oncology Veterinary Technician to support patients undergoing cancer treatment, providing advanced nursing care and collaboration with the Oncology team. Responsibilities include patient intakes and detailed histories; reviewing treatment plans, costs, medications, and discharge instructions with clients; assisting veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, procedures, and chemotherapy administration; collecting and preparing diagnostic samples; performing medical calculations and administering medications per protocol; safely handling and administering chemotherapy; assisting with radiographs, CT, ultrasound, and patient positioning; monitoring sedated patients and ensuring safe recovery; maintaining accurate medical records; and collaborating with doctors and other technicians to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Veterinary Technician required (CVT, RVT, or LVT)
- Active Massachusetts credential required
- Previous oncology experience preferred
- Strong technical nursing skills and confidence in patient handling
- Ability to perform medical calculations and administer treatments accurately
- Excellent communication and client education skills
- Fluent English speaking and reading skills
