Job Summary
Oncology Veterinary Technician role responsible for treating and monitoring oncology patients and supporting the clinician with patient care and client communication. duties include performing physical exams and basic medical measurements, phlebotomy, placing peripheral IV catheters, calculating basic medical math, preparing and administering chemotherapy (oral, SC/IM, reconstitution), ensuring accurate dosage calculations, understanding extravasation steps, admitting and discharging patients with client education on chemotherapy and side effects, communicating with clients, handling inquiries, familiarity with tumor types and oncology work-up protocols, assisting with anesthesia/monitoring equipment, and maintaining hospital operations and supplies. The position emphasizes staying current with RECOVER CPR guidelines and contributing to a collaborative, growth-oriented team environment.
