Job Summary
Teach year-round veterinary technician classes on Fridays and serve as a teaching assistant or substitute for unscheduled coverage. Deliver curriculum and standards to students while facilitating participation and maintaining student records using current technology. Adapt quickly in a fast-paced classroom environment and demonstrate professionalism as a student mentor. Prior teaching or formal tutoring experience using a developed curriculum is preferred. This part-time role is campus-based in Canton, with classes running Monday-Thursday 8:30-2:30 and Fridays.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Vet Tech license through their state (or be willing to transfer)
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Veterinary Technician experience
- Adhere to Ross Code of Conduct and Professional Ethics
- Ability to communicate effectively in classroom and individual settings
- Knowledge of materials (subjects) that will be taught to students and ability to use and communicate Ross curriculum
- Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced work environment
- Sufficient ability to move around the building and classroom to satisfy student needs and/or facilitate student participation
- Must be flexible and have a passion to learn and grow
- Sufficient ability to stand for extended periods of time, move around the building and classroom to satisfy student needs and/or facilitate student participation
- Sufficient visual and auditory ability to operate computer equipment, use telephone, read materials, use white board and use classroom/office equipment
- Ability to use current technology to maintain student records
- Ability to achieve or maintain credential and/or licensure within expected time frames
- Demonstrates professionalism in manner, dress and conduct as a representative of Ross and a student mentor
- Ability to remain objective and treat all students equally
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
