Job Summary
Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery while safely handling and restraining animals. Communicate clearly with clients regarding care instructions and status updates, and perform technical duties including lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement. Maintain accurate medical records, assist with medication dispensing, and ensure exam rooms and equipment are clean and stocked. Adhere to hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times. This full-time role includes a $1,500 sign-on bonus and offers professional development through Low Stress Handling® Certification and continuing education.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Veterinary Technician in New York State
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately
- Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions
- Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines
