Job Summary
Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician acts as liaison between internists and clients, handling patient histories, lab results, and updates; assists with anesthesia, phlebotomy, endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, radiology, and medication administration; performs client education on discharge, medical calculations, and supports ongoing diagnostics in a fast-paced veterinary hospital environment; opportunities for growth through development programs and continuing education; not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- Strong anesthesia skills
- Phlebotomy skills
- Endoscopic procedures
- Ultrasound procedures
- Set up constant rate infusions (CRI)
- Calculates medical math (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.)
- Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
- Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures
- Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway)
- Discharge IM patients with client education (e.g., insulin injection, SQ fluids)
- Maintain equipment following procedures
- Team collaboration and client communication
