Job Summary
Experienced Veterinary Technician role focusing on surgery and anesthesia support within a General Practice Hospital. Responsibilities include preparing patients for surgical procedures, assisting veterinarians during surgery, monitoring anesthesia and vital signs, supporting postoperative nursing care, collecting histories, venipuncture and IV catheter placement, in-house lab testing, radiographs, documenting treatments, and delivering client education. Ideal candidates have 1+ year veterinary experience, strong nursing and diagnostic skills, competency in patient safety and anesthesia monitoring, and licensure/certification in Georgia. The position offers a structured schedule (Mon-Fri 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with select Saturdays), comprehensive benefits, and professional development opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1+ year veterinary experience in a veterinary hospital/GP/urgent care/emergency/specialty
- Graduated from an AVMA-Accredited Veterinary Technology Program
- Obtained veterinary technician licensure in the state of Georgia within the past three years
- Successfully passed the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE)
- Currently licensed or able to be licensed as a Veterinary Technician in Georgia
- Ability to perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, lab diagnostics, radiography, and anesthesia support
- Experience with surgical and anesthesia procedures, patient restraint, client communication, and medical record documentation
