Job Summary
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures while performing laboratory tests, collecting samples, and analyzing results. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed, and monitor and record patient vital signs and progress. Maintain clean and organized workspaces, treatment areas, and equipment. Educate pet owners on preventive care, medication administration, and general animal health. Handle animal restraint and care with patience and professionalism in a fast-paced environment. Complete an accredited Veterinary Technician program and obtain certification or licensure. Join our Fear Free Certified team at Furever Family Veterinary Care Center in East Moline, IL.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Veterinary Technician program or equivalent work experience
- Strong knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Compassion for animals and commitment to high standards of animal care
- Physical ability to handle animals and perform duties in a fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications
- Certification or licensure as a Veterinary Technician (preferred)
