Job Summary
Exotics Veterinary Technician sought to join a 24-hour Emergency + Specialty hospital team. Responsibilities include assisting veterinarians with exams, treatments, and diagnostics for exotic species (birds, reptiles, rabbits, and other exotic patients), supporting anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery for surgical and procedural cases, obtaining and processing laboratory samples, performing patient restraint and nursing care, maintaining accurate medical records, communicating with clients about updates and discharge instructions, assisting with inventory of exotics-related supplies, and supporting advanced technical procedures in collaboration with Emergency, Specialty, and technical teams to deliver high-quality patient care. Ideal candidates have strong anesthesia experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical setting; credentialed technicians are preferred. Location: West Springfield, MA; full-time schedule includes three 10-hour shifts weekly (Wed, Fri, Sat). Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of Veterinary Technician experience required
- Small animal anesthesia experience required
- Veterinary Technology degree or equivalent training required
- CVT / LVT / RVT preferred
- Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
