Job Summary

ER Veterinary Technician role supporting veterinarians in emergency/critical care. Responsibilities include assisting with treatments and procedures, monitoring critically ill/injured patients, coordinating around-the-clock care, administering medications, aiding with diagnostics such as bloodwork and imaging, maintaining accurate patient records, operating and maintaining medical equipment, and communicating with pet owners about updates and treatment plans. Requires high school diploma and 2+ years of ER/CCU experience; VACSP permit within 60 days (or CA-RVT license) is required. Schedule options include Sun-Wed 10:00–8:30 PM or Sun-Thu 7:00–5:30 PM; full-time 4/10 schedule with a competitive wage ($25-$40/hour) plus a $5.50/hour shift differential.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • 2+ years of clinical ER/CCU experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates
  • Maintain VACSP; must obtain within 60 days or hold CA-RVT license

Desired Qualifications

  • 2+ years ER/CCU experience
  • Registered Veterinary Technician or Senior Veterinary Assistant
  • California VACSP permit within 60 days or CA-RVT license
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform medical dose calculations (CRIs, client invoices, estimates)
