Job Summary
Triage patients presenting to the Emergency Room, assess pets, and provide immediate lifesaving care under the direction of the ER doctor. Obtain histories and vital signs, assist DVMs with exams and procedures, and respond to STAT calls by performing diagnostics, administering medications, and managing sedation and anesthesia. Communicate medical updates and treatment plans to owners while maintaining accurate electronic medical records and handling financial discharges. Collaborate with float technicians and assistants to execute treatment plans and hospitalize patients as needed. Schedule is full-time, Wednesday through Saturday, 6:00am to 4:30pm. Requires at least one year of veterinary technician experience and registration in Colorado.
Required Qualifications
- At least ONE YEAR of veterinary technician experience
- Registered Veterinary Technician, in Colorado, or the ability to become registered upon hire
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Great work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to adhere to strict attendance policies
- Ability to handle fluctuation caseload and emergency situations
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading)
Desired Qualifications
- At least 1 years of Veterinary Technician experience in a Emergency or Specialty Hospital
- Ability to multitask and anticipate the department's needs
- Excellent communication
- Experience using Medical Record and Whiteboard programs in a veterinary setting
- Fluency in multiple languages
