Job Summary
Veterinary Dermatology Technician responsible for assisting dermatology consultations and examinations, performing diagnostic sample collection (skin scrapings, cytology, ear cytology), venipuncture, and nursing support; administering medications and treatments including topical therapies and medicated baths; supporting allergy testing, anesthesia and sedation for procedures, and long-term case management; maintaining accurate medical records and exam-room readiness; educating clients on chronic allergy management and preventive care; collaborating with dermatology specialists, technicians, assistants, and client-service teams to deliver exceptional patient care as Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency launches its Dunwoody, GA facility (opening Oct 2026) after onboarding at the Marietta hospital in Aug 2026; strong emphasis on client communication, compassion for patients with chronic conditions, attention to detail, and growth within specialty medicine.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1+ year veterinary experience preferred
- Experience within General Practice, Urgent Care, Emergency Veterinary Hospitals, or Specialty Veterinary Hospitals
- Strong foundation in Animal Handling and Restraint
- Venipuncture and Sample Collection
- Laboratory Diagnostics
- Client Communication
- Patient Monitoring
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)
- Previous dermatology experience
- Strong cytology and laboratory skills
- Experience supporting chronic case management
- Passion for client education and specialty medicine
- Education and licensure requirements per state (Georgia)
