Job Summary
Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery while safely handling and restraining animals with compassion. Perform technical duties including lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement, and maintain accurate medical records for medication dispensing. Communicate clearly with clients regarding care instructions and status updates. Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready. Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times. This role is part of a full-service team serving the Kansas City suburbs, specializing in companion and exotic pet care.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately
- Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions
- Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines
