Job Summary
Assist veterinarians in outpatient exams, surgeries, and daily patient care by taking histories, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing in-house laboratory work. Obtain blood and stool samples, prepare radiographs, and provide basic animal restraint while maintaining clean exam and lab areas. Educate clients on care procedures and coordinate with the practice team to ensure high standards of patient safety and satisfaction. Requires weekend availability and ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Mountain Legacy Veterinary Center offers health, dental, and vision insurance along with a paid time off program.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work on weekends as required
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds
- Ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
- Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
- Basic math and the ability to calculate medication dosages
- Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS office applications, etc.
- Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety
Desired Qualifications
- Previous veterinary experience preferred
