Job Summary
Prepare patients, medications, equipment, and treatment areas for sedation and general anesthesia. Provide continuous multi-parameter monitoring, recognize changes in patient status, and respond to anesthetic emergencies. Safely operate, troubleshoot, and maintain anesthesia and monitoring equipment while maintaining sterile technique. Demonstrate strong knowledge of anesthetic and analgesic medications, including their effects and potential adverse reactions. Provide attentive post-anesthetic monitoring and safely transition patients back to their admitting service. Participate in daily rounds and collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and specialty teams to coordinate patient care. Full-time position with four 10-hour shifts per week and an on-call requirement of up to 5 days per month.
Required Qualifications
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (LVT, CVT, or RVT)
- ability to become credentialed
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of anesthesia monitoring, equipment, and medications in a veterinary specialty or emergency setting

- Previous experience working directly with a board-certified veterinary anesthesiologist
