Job Summary
Conduct compassionate, cutting-edge neurological care for patients at a VECCS Level I facility, managing anesthetic protocols, surgical procedures, and admitted patient nursing. Perform restraint, venipuncture, and IV catheterization while collaborating closely with specialists in emergency, critical care, and other specialties. Maintain strong communication with clients and colleagues to navigate interpersonal interactions and support team success in a supportive, collaborative environment. Anticipated schedule includes 4 days a week with 10-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays. Compensation ranges from $25.00 to $32.00 per hour, with additional bonuses for VTS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Veterinary Technician
- 1-3 years Veterinary Technician experience
- Must be 18 years or older to apply
- Weekend shifts and holidays are required
- 4 days a week / 10-hour shifts
- Strong communication skills both with clients and colleagues
- Comfortable with restraint
- Comfortable with venipuncture
- Comfortable with anesthesia
- Experience providing nursing care and husbandry for admitted patients
- Knowledge of basic laboratory tests
- Knowledge of the use, care, and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client and personal services
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
Desired Qualifications
- Associates in Veterinary Technology
- CVT license
- Phlebotomy
- IV Catheterization (peripheral)
- Experience with CPR, EzyVet, and SmartFlow
- Genuine passion for anesthetic protocols and surgical procedures
