Job Summary
Provide primary support to the Surgical team in a high-demand veterinary hospital (emergency/specialty) by assisting with anesthesia, induction, and intraoperative care. Manage the daily OR schedule, perform pre-operative testing (blood draws, radiographs), prepare drugs/CRIs, perform pre-medicating and induction setup, assist with intubation, monitor patient under anesthesia, assess vitals and pain, complete post-op checks, and ensure accurate documentation. Maintain sterile technique, assist with instrument care and radiographs, and support doctors and clients with education and care plans. Train less experienced staff, cross-train to support other hospital areas, and help keep the department organized and on time. Strong communication, attention to detail, Fear Free protocols, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-driven environment are essential. Required Qualifications
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician preferred (LVT, CVT, RVT)
- 2 years’ experience in emergency or specialty setting
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to calculate accurate dosages and injections
- Familiarity with CPR and rescue breathing
- Fluent English (additional languages a plus)
- Ability to take direction and work with supervision
- Team-oriented with positive culture
- Ability to work with and without direct supervision
