Job Summary
Conduct active participation in surgical cases, dental procedures, emergencies, sick patient workups, and routine medical appointments under the supervision of an experienced veterinarian. Engage in case discussions, collaborative problem-solving, and hands-on patient care for dogs and cats across general practice, emergency, and specialty settings. Confirm exam findings with your supervising veterinarian before proceeding with treatment plans. This externship provides clinical-year students at AVMA-accredited schools with mentorship and diverse experience in soft tissue surgery and dentistry at Vitality Veterinary of Swansea, located just outside Boston.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a current veterinary student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
- Must provide proof of professional liability insurance
- Must be a 3rd or 4th year veterinary medical student
- Must be on official externship blocks for school credit
