Job Summary
Participate actively in surgical cases, dental procedures, emergencies, sick patient workups, and routine medical appointments under the supervision of an experienced veterinarian and skilled support staff. Discuss cases with your supervising veterinarian to verify exam findings and confirm your plans before moving forward as part of the team. Gain hands-on experience in ultrasound, soft tissue surgery, and emergency care for dogs and cats in a fast-paced environment. This externship provides a transformative clinical experience for 3rd and 4rd year students at AVMA-accredited schools, offering mentorship and diverse exposure across our network of emergency hospitals in Port Charlotte, Florida.
Required Qualifications
- Current veterinary student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
- Proof of professional liability insurance
- Clinical-year status (3rd or 4th year)
- Official externship blocks for school credit
