Job Summary
Conduct hands-on patient care in GP, ER, and specialty settings including ultrasound, soft tissue surgery, orthopedic surgery, emergency care, and routine medical appointments. Actively participate in surgical cases, dental procedures, and sick patient workups while discussing findings with a supervising veterinarian to verify exam results before proceeding. Collaborate on case discussions and collaborative problem-solving to further development toward becoming a veterinarian. This externship provides clinical experience for AVMA-accredited students in a high-quality hybrid practice serving pets in the Central Valley and Bay Area.
Required Qualifications
- Current veterinary student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
- Proof of professional liability insurance
- 3rd or 4th year veterinary medical student
- Student in clinical years on official externship blocks for school credit
