Job Summary
Participate actively in surgical cases, dental procedures, emergencies, sick patient workups, and routine medical appointments under the supervision of an experienced veterinarian and skilled support staff. Collaborate with the team on case discussions, collaborative problem-solving, and hands-on patient care for dogs and cats across emergency, general practice, and specialty settings. Verify exam findings with your supervising veterinarian before proceeding with plans to ensure accuracy. This externship is designed for clinical-year students at AVMA-accredited schools, offering transformative mentorship and diverse experience within a well-equipped emergency hospital near San Francisco, Napa Valley, and Sacramento.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a current veterinary student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
- Must provide proof of professional liability insurance
- Must be a 4th year veterinary medical student
Desired Qualifications
- Priority scheduling is given to students in their clinical years on official externship blocks for school credit
